This Cookie Policy describes how Qme, operated by AIchatbots SRL, a limited liability company organized under the laws of Romania ("Qme," "we," "us," or "our"), uses cookies and comparable technologies on our website at qme.ai and in the Qme web application, where you sign in, manage your Account, and work with your projects and canvases (together, the "Sites"). Capitalized terms that are not defined here have the meanings given in the Qme Terms of Service ("Terms"). For more detail on how we handle Personal Data in general, please read our Privacy Policy.
By continuing to use the Sites, you acknowledge the practices described in this Cookie Policy. Where the law requires your consent for a particular technology, we will ask for it first and will only use that technology if you agree.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer, phone, or tablet when you visit it. Cookies let a site recognize your device, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is being used.
Cookies differ in how long they last and who sets them:
- Session cookies are removed automatically when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.
- First-party cookies are set directly by Qme.
- Third-party cookies are set by another company whose service is built into our Sites, and that company can sometimes recognize your device on other websites too.
The Qme connector and cookies
Qme's MCP connector is not a website, and it does not depend on cookies. When you link an AI assistant (an "AI Client") to your workspace, access is granted through OAuth 2.0 and the AI Client authenticates with access tokens, not browser cookies. Cookies and browser storage come into play only when you use our Sites, for example when you sign in, approve an AI Client's connection request, or change your Account settings. How the connector handles tokens and the data it processes is covered in the Privacy Policy and in Annex A to the Terms.
Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
What it is for: Signing you in and keeping your session active, completing the OAuth approval flow when you connect an AI Client, protecting against fraudulent requests and abuse, and enabling basic site operation.
Our approach: Used on the Sites. These do not require your consent, because the Sites cannot work properly or safely without them.
How you can control it: Can be blocked in your browser settings, but sign-in and other core features will then stop working.
Functionality
What it is for: Remembering choices such as language or display settings so that you do not need to repeat them on every visit.
Our approach: Used only to the extent needed to support the features you ask for.
How you can control it: Browser settings, or the cookie preferences we make available.
Analytics and performance
What it is for: Helping us see which pages and features are used, how the Sites perform, and where errors occur, so we can improve them.
Our approach: Not used for tracking you across other sites. If we introduce non-essential analytics, we will do so only as the law allows, including by asking for your consent where it is required.
How you can control it: Cookie preferences (where offered), browser settings, or by contacting us.
Advertising and targeting
What it is for: Building interest profiles or showing ads.
Our approach: Not used. Qme does not display advertisements or sponsored content, does not sell Personal Data, and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How you can control it: Not applicable.
Social media
What it is for: Social sign-in buttons or embedded social content.
Our approach: Not used for tracking. If you sign in through a third-party identity provider, that provider may set its own cookies on its own pages, governed by its own policy.
How you can control it: The settings of the relevant provider.
We do not publish a fixed list of individual cookie names in this document because they can change as the Sites evolve. If you would like to know exactly which cookies are currently set, you can view them in your browser's developer or privacy tools, or ask us at hello@qme.ai.
How long cookies last
We keep cookies only as long as they are needed for their purpose:
- Authentication and security cookies generally last for the length of your session or for a limited period afterwards, so that you stay signed in while you are working.
- Preference cookies, if used, last long enough to remember your choices, and will not outlast their usefulness.
- Any non-essential cookie we may add in the future will be limited to a reasonable period and will be described on this page.
You can delete cookies yourself whenever you like. Expired cookies are removed by your browser automatically.
Other technologies
Apart from cookies, we may use related technologies for similar purposes:
- Browser web storage. Local storage and session storage in your browser can hold small amounts of data, such as session state or interface preferences. This storage is used for purposes similar to the cookies above, and you can clear it through your browser settings.
- Pixel tags and email beacons. Small images embedded in a web page or an HTML email can show that the page or message was opened. We do not currently use them to track you across other websites. If we add them to service or marketing emails, we will use them only as permitted by law, and you can prevent them by blocking remote images in your email client or by unsubscribing from marketing emails.
- Server and security logs. Our systems record technical information about connections and requests, such as IP address, client type, and timestamps, to run the Service, troubleshoot, and prevent abuse. These logs are described, along with how long we keep them, in the Privacy Policy.
We do not use session-replay or screen-recording tools on the Sites, and we do not use Flash or comparable plug-in storage.
What cookies do not do
Cookies set by the Sites cannot read other files on your device or retrieve data from cookies belonging to other websites. They contain no executable code and cannot spread malware. They also do not capture the content of your prompts, nodes, or Source Content; that material is Customer Content, which we process only as your processor and under your instructions.
Your choices
You have several ways to manage cookies and similar technologies:
- Cookie preferences. Where we offer a cookie banner or settings panel, you can accept, reject, or tailor non-essential categories there, and change your mind at any time. Strictly necessary cookies are always on, since the Sites rely on them.
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies and clear web storage. The steps vary by browser, so check its help pages. Many browsers accept cookies unless you change the defaults, and blocking all cookies will likely stop you from signing in or approving connections to AI Clients.
- Email images. Block remote image loading in your email client to prevent pixel tags, or unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message.
- Global privacy signals. Where applicable law requires us to honor opt-out signals sent by your browser, such as Global Privacy Control, we will do so.
- Contacting us. You can write to us at any time to ask a question or to withdraw a consent you have given.
Your settings apply to the browser and device where you made them, so you will need to repeat them on each browser or device you use. Declining non-essential cookies will not stop you from using Qme, although a few conveniences may be lost, and you may have to sign in more often.
Legal basis (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and securing the Sites, and because the Sites could not otherwise provide the service you requested. Any non-essential cookies or similar technologies are set only with your prior consent, which you may withdraw at any time without adverse consequences. See the Privacy Policy for the full description of legal bases, your data protection rights, and how to complain to a supervisory authority.
Third-party sites and services
The Sites may link to external websites, including the original posts on Third-Party Platforms, and you may interact with AI Clients and Third-Party AI Providers outside the Sites. Those parties set their own cookies under their own policies, and this Cookie Policy does not cover them. We encourage you to read their cookie and privacy notices.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may revise this Cookie Policy as the Sites, our providers, or legal requirements change. Updated versions are posted on this page together with a new "Last Updated" date. If a change materially affects the cookies we use or your choices, we will give additional notice where appropriate and will request fresh consent if the law requires it.
